Student Assistant in Policy Impact Evaluation (m/f/d)
(Position number: 11-2025 SHK Capable)
Tasks
- Support a systematic review of quantitative ex-post evaluation literature on the effectiveness of climate mitigation policies;
- Identify, search for, and select relevant academic and policy literature;
- Extract, code, and standardize data from selected studies;
- Manage and organize data from multiple sources;
- Learn and apply critical appraisal techniques to assess study quality;
- Assist in synthesizing findings, including data analysis and result visualization;
- Contribute to manuscript writing and documentation;
- Provide general support for the daily operations of the Evidence for Climate Solutions Group.
Requirements
You are a Bachelor or Master student, enrolled at a German university, and ideally meet the following requirements:
- You are a successful student with a background in economics, environmental scienc-es, quantitative social or political science, psychology, or related fields;
- You are able to read and understand scientific literature;
- You are eager to learn;
- You are able to work independently and as part of a team and can deliver outputs along pre-defined timelines.
Additionally:
- A sound understanding of econometrics, causal inference and quasi-experimental methods is a strong asset;
- Previous experience in policy impact evaluation is an asset;
- Knowledge in statistical software like R is an asset;
