Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry. This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Working Student - Sustainability (m/f/d)
Tasks
- Develop recommendations about material emission factors related to our industry and activities
- Develop recommendations on LCA modelling fundamentals for specific applications
- Contribute to a variety of research methods to analyze, report, and provide recommendations for sustainability projects and programs
- Assist in conducting Life Cycle Assessments for products or processes
- Collaborate with the Sustainability Team to model environmental impacts and suggest improvements based on LCA findings
- Research internal and external communications about sustainability topics
- General research and data collection on sustainability topics as needed
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a degree in Material Science, Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, or a related field
- Strong interest and understanding of sustainability principles and practices
- Excellent research and analytical skills
- Familiarity with emissions factors and Life Cycle Assessment concepts is a plus
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and software
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Detail-oriented and able to work independently
