Student assistant (80 hours per month)
Tasks
Supporting activities under supervision in the field of multi-robot systems in the project “Emmy Noether 2. Teilabschnitt”:
- preparatory and supporting work in the Programming in Python/C++/ROS 2 within our open-source research testbed for flying robot swarms (60%).
- support in the execution of flight experiments with flying robot teams (20%)
- preparatory and supporting work in the embedded programming in Rust/C for the firmware of the robots (10%)
- within given specifications and criteria assistance in the validation of new planning and control algorithms for collaborative flying robot teams (10%)
Requirements
Must:
- very good programming skills in Rust, Python, or C++
- good mathematical basics (linear algebra and calculus)
- good written and spoken English skills
Optional criteria:
- fundamentals of artificial intelligence / machine learning
- basics of control engineering / robotics
- experience with modelling and control of flying robots
- experience with embedded systems (Arduino, STM32, or similar)
- experience with the Robot Operating System (ROS)
- enthusiasm for the research topic and the desire to participate in a research group
