Research Associate (m/f/x) with a focus on business administration

At the Faculty of Mechanical Science and Engineering, Institute of Manufacturing, the Chair of Joining Technology and Assembly offers a project position as
Research Associate (m/f/x)
with a focus on business administration
(subject to personal qualification employees are remunerated according to salary group E 13 TV-L)
starting June 1, 2025. The position is limited until September 30, 2026. The period of employment is governed by § 2 (2) Fixed Term Research Contracts Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz – WissZeitVG). Balancing family and career is an important issue. Tasks

a novel monitoring system for joining processes is being developed at the Chair of Joining Technology and Assembly. This system is based on real-time simulation models, and the aim is to transfer them into a product. As part of a publicly funded project (EXIST research transfer), the founding of a company selling this monitoring system is to be prepared. The tasks of the job include:

  • development of a business model and financial strategies
  • performing market analyses
  • identifying potential customers
  • developing operational structures for the company

Requirements

  • university degree in business administration
  • analytical thinking, entrepreneurial mindset and initiative
  • ability to work in a team, very good communication and presentation skills
  • experience with start-ups, company foundation and strategic planning is an advantage
