The research project "Ziel-orientiertes Lernen von Agenten" (ZoLA) of the Software and Embedded Systems Engineering Group investigates the structured and iterative development of reinforcement learning agents. The vision is to replace the common trial-and-error practice in the development of such agents based on goal-oriented specification. Therefore, the aim of the project is the development of new, conceptual research approaches for goal-oriented specification as well as the software development of a prototype for graphical, iterative development.

Support in the project includes the following tasks:

• Development and publication of own research approaches within the framework of the project
• Technical advise of the student employees in the project for the software development of a graphical application for the specification of requirements for reinforcement learning agents
• Planning and support in the implementation of experiments in the field of robotics and reinforcement leaming
• Preparation of the project and research results

• Successfully completed scientific university degree (Master's, Diploma or equivalent) in computer science or related courses, very good degree desirable interest in research and software development as well as in-depth and theoretically sound knowledge in at least one of the following areas: Machine learning (especially reinforcement learning), quality assurance, front-end development
• Good knowledge of German and/or English required; willingness to acquire the respective missing language skills
• Experience in scientific work

Extracurricular skills:

• Reliability, ability to work in a team, structured and independent way of working
